Description
Interim Home Health and Hospice is a full-service hospice that serves clients in Wayne, Oakland, and parts of Livingston county. Providing support for those who have lost a loved one to a terminal illness is an essential service that hospice provides. Here at Interim Home Health Care and Hospice, we follow our families for up to 13 months after their loved one has passed away, providing individualized support to each person. Our hospice is seeking a volunteer to assist the Bereavement Coordinator with providing bereavement support to our families who have lost a loved one with our hospice, as well as community members. Tasks include assisting Bereavement Coordinator with facilitating our community grief and loss groups, research requested grief and loss topics. Volunteers must be 18+ years of age, and be available 1 morning Wednesday per month (the 2nd Wednesday is preferred). Experience with support group facilitation is encouraged, but not required. Volunteer will be required to participate in our regulatory volunteer interviewing, onboarding and training process, including training on grief and loss and support group facilitation. For more information, or to schedule a volunteer interview, please contact Lisa Gardner, Volunteer and Bereavement Coordinator, at ligardner@interimhealthcare.com, or by phone at (248) 629-0603 (cell), or (248) 553-3333 (main office).
